Personal Care Attendant RN Supervisor Job Opening in minneapolis, Minnesota - Personal Care Attendant RN Supervisor Required Qualifications: ? Licensed RN in the State of MN ? Reliable transportation ? Knowledge and belief in the Independent Living Philosophy ? Ability to pass a criminal background check ? Ability to show proof you are eligible to work in the US ? Proficient at using Microsoft Office Suites, email, and navigating the internet Preferred Qualifications: ? Knowledge of home care and/or personal care attendant services ? Fluent in second language Ongoing Contracted Hours: 15-20 hours per week The schedule is flexible. The QP will negotiate schedule with the Manager and consumers insuring that their job duties and program needs are being met. Salary: Negotiable based on employee or independent contractor General Description: The Qualified Professional (QP) will provide oversight of services to consumers receiving personal care assistant services according to the most recent Public Health Nurse assessment. The QP will go out on home visits twice a year for consumers receiving PCA services through MCIL. While visiting consumers the QP will: work with the consumer on developing a Support Plan that their PCA(s) can follow; answer questions related to services that are being/ may be provided; insure that the consumer is receiving quality care. When needed, the QP will also train individual PCA in providing proper care to consumers. This would include instructions on how to safely transfer, respiratory cares, catheter care, proper hand washing, etc. The QP will work with the PAS manager to schedule monthly appointments, maintain necessary program documents, develop care plans within required scheduled timelines, complete visits when a change in condition occurs, and relay pertinent information to the appropriate person. Essential Job Duties 1. Demonstrated understanding and ability to follow the IL philosophy 2. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with heterogeneous groups of individuals, from various socio-economic, ethnic, cultural and racial backgrounds. 3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a cross disciplinary environment to: facilitate the timely delivery of services; enable appropriate follow up and reporting of status of services. 4. Ability to independently travel the seven county metro areas. 5. Demonstrated proficiency in the use Windows, Excel, and other Microsoft applications. 6. Work effectively with the Personal Assistant Services team 7. Encourage self-advocacy of consumers and Personal Care staff 8. Ability to organize and track billable hours, complete supporting documentation, send out monthly updates, and complete on-going consumer visits in a timely manner 9. Fulfill mandated reporting requirements when there is suspected or known abuse or neglect of a vulnerable person taking place. 10. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally using professional/social language appropriate to the disability community.
