Position Overview
We are seeking experienced and innovative senior software engineers to help build the next generation of law enforcement, fire, and EMS software. This position will be responsible for building robust server side and front-end solutions for life-critical technical environments that must scale appropriately for the smallest to the largest municipalities in America. We heavily leverage open source technologies like JavaFX, J2EE, JSON, and we enjoy staying active in the open source community. This role offers tremendous career growth opportunities and it reports directly to the Chief Software Architect.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Ability to work on life-critical public safety dispatch software projects that can be uniquely customized for municipalities of all sizes.
Ability to work in a small highly-productive software development environment.
Participate in a set of collaborative processes and automated delivery procedures that are consistent with dynamic DevOps practices.
Occasional travel to client sites within the United States and primarily on the east coast.
Ability to develop custom software that meets the client?s preferences for look, feel, and operational applicability.
Qualifications and Skills
BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
4+ years? experience developing software for the J2EE platform including the JSON input/output model, and JavaFX and HTTP front-end applications.
Deep understanding of databases, automated testing, and DevOps procedures.
Proficiency building and managing RESTful architectures and API?s.
Strong interest in the public safety technology market.
Self-motivated, detail oriented, team player, and accountable for your performance.
