Software Development Engineer - Platform team Job Opening in Seattle, Washington - Must be able to work in the US without Visa Sponsorship
Software Engineers on Carena?s Platform team create, develop, and operate scalable software solutions for our customers and internal partners. Our Software Engineers contribute ideas, designs, code, tests to their team, support sister teams and other teams within our organization. Software Development Engineers on our Team focus on developing and operating Web APIs, backend jobs, integration solutions, tools and deployment scripts, using Agile methodologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Participate and contribute to the Product Development planning process
Collaborate and partner with other developers and Program Managers to execute the software development plan
Design software solutions to platform problems
Implement software solutions to platform problems
Integrate and Test software solutions to platform problems
Strong knowledge of developing APIs and Web Services for web applications.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS.
3+ years of Experience in Java.
3+ years of experience developing Web Services and APIs.
2+ years experience with JavaScript.
Experience with Web and Web application servers (e.g., Apache, Jetty)
Experience with No-SQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra
Experience with SalesForce and BitQuery a BIG plus.
Experience with Object Oriented design and development
Experience with Web protocols HTTP, HTTPS, WebRTC
We like Self-Starters with excellent attention to detail.
Strong analytical, design, problem solving, and debugging skills.
Good knowledge of software design patterns and software engineering best practices
Experience with SCRUM or other Agile software development practices
BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related area
DESIREABLE SKILLSET.
Servlet development using Java
API development for Web Applications.
Familiarity with Jetty and MongoDB
Familiarity with Docker a huge plus.
Strong Server-side JavaScript skills
Pluses: Web RTC protocols, SalesForce APIs, BigQuery and NodeJS.
Knowledge of Healthcare
Reporting
Git (and/or GitHub).
