Membership/Advertising Sales Representative Job Opening in Riverside, California - Founded in 1900, the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce represents the interests of business in the greater Riverside area. The Chamber is a fast-paced organization with a mission of improving the economic prosperity of the Inland region. The work revolves around providing members with networking opportunities, promoting the community, and engaging federal, state, and local officials on behalf of business interests.
Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Reports to: President/CEO and Vice President
Purpose:
The Sales Representative generates revenue by selling memberships to prospective non-member businesses through communicating the benefits and services of the Chamber. The representative provides detailed information on various programs and orients the client to the Chamber's advertising vehicles.
Essential :
Exhibits effective lead generation/sales skills, and provides excellent customer service to potential, new and existing Chamber members.
Contacts, acquires and sells prospects new membership to the Chamber.
Sell advertising in Greater Riverside Business (GRB), the Chambers' monthly newspaper, and other Chamber products and services.
Achieves budgeted revenue goals.
Generates cold calls by actively seeking new businesses and following up appropriately.
Maintains knowledge of goals, objectives, features and services of membership.
Stays informed about Chamber member benefits, events, and functions.
Assists member clients to make full use of Chamber benefits and programs.
Actively supports and participates in Chamber functions.
Perform additional responsibilities and assignments as requested by the President/CEO and Vice President.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Sales experience required.
Self-starter with a professional demeanor and presentation of self with an outgoing personality.
Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills.
Familiarity with local community and regional economy preferred.
Proficiency with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and audio/visual equipment.
Ability to multi-task concurrent projects and operate in a fast-paced office environment.
Ability to work as a member of a team or independently with limited supervision.
Previous events planning experience preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Bilingual is a plus.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Associate?s degree, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in a professional environment preferred.
Able to lift 25 lbs without difficulty.
Must have reliable transportation.
Compensation:
Full-time; $40,000 annual base salary plus commission.
Medical, dental and vision benefits offered after introductory period.
Commission Structure:
New Member Commission:
10% commission: $1 - $4,499 in monthly membership revenue
20% commission: $4,500+ in monthly membership revenue
Advertising Commission:
20% commission on new and renewed advertising contracts
