Sales Manager Job Opening in Chicago, Illinois - The Sales Manager is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities and provides leadership towards the achievement of office and division goals, while maintaining alignment with company vision and enterprise goals. This individual will be accountable for establishing plans and strategies to expand our existing client base, while contributing to the development and training of office resources in the Sales job family (i.e., Sales, Senior Sales and Strategic Sales Executives). The starting salary is upwards of $70k + annual bonus.
Responsibilities:
Monitors health of office sales strategy
Responsible for managing and increasing market share of a specific portfolio of clients
Provides sales support and sales resource development
Develop and maintain business plan and sales strategy for the office in collaboration with General Manager and Director of Sales
Manages strategy for effective prospecting and client solicitation
Pipeline Management: promote and measure the effective utilization of sales planning tools
Manages customer sales metrics and provides timely feedback to General Manager and Director of Sales regarding office performance
Establishes personal development plans with office resources in the sales job family
Self-development inclusive of knowledge of C.H. Robinson services, managing proposals, sales training, industry networking, financial/P&L, and presentation skills
Manages a team of 6-12 sales representatives
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s Degree
5+ years of sales experience (3 + of those years in logistics or supply chain)
Consultative, complex sales experience with proven revenue results
Proven ability of mentoring and coaching sales resources
Strong verbal, written, presentation skills and business acumen
Well-developed organizational and time management skills
Previous experience managing direct reports (preferred)
Willingness to travel 25% to 40%
