Assurance Health System is a short-term inpatient geri-psychiatric hospital that focuses on the mental health needs of our senior population. Our dedicated staff provides highly specialized and compassionate psychiatric care for our aging population. Our fast-growing health system provides cutting edge treatment for an expanding patient population, with a focus on the quality of care that we provide. Presently, Assurance Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our family in the role of Admissions Manager.
This dynamic individual supervises and manages nurse and clinical liaisons servicing the same hospital location(s). The ideal candidate has marketing experience in long-term care or hospice and can provide direction and guidance in weekly marketing meetings, reviewing individual and team goals.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Ensures that the Assurance liaison team builds positive relationships with area physicians, physician office staff members, and hospitals.
Supervises the marketing plans and techniques used in the area to increase referrals to our hospitals and ensures that everyone knows about the services offered.
Brainstorms and develops creative marketing and outreach strategies to maintain, obtain, and increase referral sources.
Maintains and provides outcome data to appropriate managers and hospital personnel and follows up with referring providers.
Helps to educate the area discharge planners, physicians and other appropriate referral sources for admissions into the facilities.
The admissions manager, in coordination with the director of patient relations, helps plan, implement, and supervise programs designed to advance the objectives of the facilities.
Identifies referral sources and potential referral sources.
Is professional.
Performs on-site and telephone pre-admission screenings and clinical assessments. These may be provided in an institutional, residential, outpatient, and/or community settings.
Provides recommendations related to appropriate levels of care.
Coordinates the patient admissions process.
Educated clients, family members, significant others, referral sources, hospital personnel, external payers, and external case managers about program benefits and services.
Possesses expertise in developing rapport with clients, family members, healthcare representatives, and/or significant others.
Is customer service focused?both from an internal and external perspective.
Can effectively manage a large, energetic, and remotely working team.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Experience: Prefer a candidate with 6 months experience in marketing.
Licensure: Currently licensed in the State of Ohio as a Registered Nurse.
Additional Skills Required:
Familiarity with the resources available for use in assessing regulations.
Good assessment skills and understanding of the insurance and managed care arenas.
Able to function independently.
Able to communicate the hospital objectives and goals to outside individuals.
Able to effectively seek out and communicate to outside referral sources.
Able to quantify and measure team goals.
Must demonstrate expertise in analysis, decision making, time management, oral and written communication, and computer use.
Fluent in Microsoft Office.
