St. Vincent Preventative Family Care, a medical service organization located in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Certified Professional Coder.

Please NOTE : You must have 2-5 years of previous Medical Coding experience and a current CPC-A, CCS, or RHIT certification to be considered for this position
Summary: Medical Biller is responsible for working the accounts receivable and performing all other duties associated with coding, billing, and follow ups - to include troubleshooting delayed claims.
As an Independent Contractor - Work remotely from your home office or site location - Set your own schedule - Be compensated
- $15.00-17.00 per hour
Primary responsibilities:
Translate patient information into billing system
Authorizations
Post and manage patient payments
Post and manage encounters
Code patient services into the billing system
Ensure all clients are reimbursed for all procedures
Follow up on aged accounts, and reconcile for payment
Assist patients with their accounts
Know CPT, modifiers, LCD edits, CCI edits, ICD9 and ICD10
Write letters of appeal to contest zero payment or underpayments.
Log detailed notes on account status and set follow up.
Attends seminars and in-services as required to remain current on coding issues
Maintain current coding certificate.
Maintains a 95% audit score.
Required experience :
Medical Billing, Coding: 2 years
Requirements :
2-5 years of previous Coding experience is required.
Current CPC-A, CCS, or RHIT certification is required.
Preferred: Required credentials will be either by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA); or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT); or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS); or Certified Coding Based (CCS-P); or certified by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC).
