Staff Accountant Job Opening in Scottsdale, Arizona - Rapidly growing Scottsdale Arizona company is looking for an experienced full-time Staff Accountant. This position provides support to Controller and Senior Management and other activities within the company.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing duties that require considerable confidentiality, incentive, tact, mature and independent judgment, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills. The Staff Accountant tasks will include, but not limited to:
Day to day tasks associated with a Medical Marijuana dispensary and non-profit company
Assist Senior Accountants and Controller with ad hoc projects
Support Accounts Payable
Assist with month end close
Post general ledger entries and reconcile various GLs
Perform bank reconciliations
Reconcile and post corporate credit card transactions
Report on fixed asset
Assist in the preparation of sales and use tax reports
Qualifications
Thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices
Working knowledge of QuickBooks accounting systems
Solid Microsoft Office skills with a strong emphasis in Excel (preferably advanced knowledge ? vlookups, pivot tables, etc)
Experience with accounts payable
Comprehension of fixed assets
Familiarity with intercompany transactions
Knowledge of basic payroll tasks
Ability to work with strict deadlines and understand and respond to changing work priorities
Attention to detail and time skills
Excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially during period close and reporting cycles
Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
Reliable and flexible attitude

Ability to maintain confidential information
Education/ Experience/ Requirements
5 years of experience as a Staff Accountant
Must pass a preliminary check, fingerprint clearance, and drug test
