Group Sales Manager Job Opening in Richmond, Virginia - SMI Hotel Group is looking for a highly motivated individual to fulfill an open position for Group Sales Manager to handle the SMERF market at the NEWLY renovated and rebranded 298 room Delta Hotels by Marriott Richmond Downtown. The property is located in the heart of Richmond's financial district, along the banks of the James River. Guests can choose to stay in and enjoy the comfort and style of our casual restaurant and bar, energize in our extensive fitness facilities, or have an adventure of mountain biking or kayaking just steps from our door. Richmond was recently named the ?Best River Town in America? by Outdoor Magazine, and the Delta Hotels by Marriott Richmond Downtown is the most convenient hotel to some of the best urban river recreation in the country. Shopping, dining, night life, as well as historic Shockoe Slip and Shockoe Bottom are just blocks away, as are the headquarters of some of Richmond?s most prestigious companies. The property features over 13,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, accommodating groups from 5- 500.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales: Accountable for achieving business revenue goals and established Personal Performance Expectations and activity goals. Solicit and prospect new and existing accounts while developing and maintaining excellent client relationships. Responsible for guestrooms, meeting space and food and beverage service at the Delta Hotels Richmond Downtown.
Revenue Maximization: Responsible for effectively managing revenue by utilizing market industry data and knowledge to secure appropriate business to maximize hotel profitability.
Technical Acumen: Responsible for utilizing sales tools/systems to accurately identify, report, forecast and communicate sales data. Ensures integrity of sales data by documenting information in Salesforce/Delphi on a daily basis. Utilizes sales tools such as STARŪ report, Hotelligence, reader boards and other market resources to drive business.
Guest Service: Responsible for client satisfaction by ensuring the clients? needs and concerns are responded to in a courteous and timely manner. Ensures effective communication of client needs from sales to appropriate operational departments. Provides follow-up calls and correspondence to clients to encourage repeat business/customer referrals.
Training: Ensures all company, brand, and department specific training requirements are met.
Self/Workload Management: Responsible for effective self/workload management. Demonstrates clear written and verbal communication skills. Promotes collaboration and positive, professional work environment. Attends all daily, weekly and/or monthly department/hotel meetings to ensure proper occurs. Must be flexible in work schedule as needed. Scheduled work week is Tuesday - Saturday.
Safety/Risk Management: Ensures a clean and safe work environment to maintain standards per brand, local, state and federal regulations. Follows all procedures for guest/associate incidents. Knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Education: High school diploma or GED required. College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
: Hotel Experience REQUIRED. 1-3 years of Sales experience preferred. SMERF knowledge will be highly regarded. CI/TY skills are a plus. Must be detail oriented, have ability to communicate well with all levels within and outside the organization, and be able to problem-solve with employees and clients. Apply today!
