Business & Finance Coordinator Job Opening in Salem, Massachusetts - ABOUT ROOT: Root is a start-up social enterprise utilizing food service as an employment skills training and job placement program for opportunity youth between the ages of 16-24 based in Essex County, Massachusetts. Our vision is to transform the lives of low income, at-risk young adults by teaching them quality work and important life skills through food service training to become employed and self-sufficient.
POSITION OVERVIEW: The primary duty of the Business & Finance Coordinator is to give support to Roots business operations and the Executive Director. The Business & Finance Coordinator is responsible for managing general business sales, book keeping, budget , financial analysis, scheduling meetings, general filing, database management, managing incoming phone calls, managing the front office, special projects, and other customer-related interactions.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
General business management
Check and verify source documents such as invoices, receipts, computer printouts
Allocate and post financial transaction details to subsidiary books
Reconcile and balance all accounts
Maintain internal control systems
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
Prepare check request for payment and bank deposits
Assist with organizational payroll
Maintain complete filing system to support financial records
Manage executive Directors schedule
Manage incoming calls
Database management
Manage Donor Database
Budget preparation
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of five year?s experience in an administrative capacity
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting, finance principles, and procedures
Working knowledge of relevant computer applications
Knowledge of data management and financial information analysis
Degree in business, accounting or finance an advantage
General bookkeeping experience
Strong communication skills both written and oral
Ability to draft and edit written documents
Budget preparation and management
