HUMAN RESOURCES/COMPLIANCE/ACCOUNTING POSITION Job Opening in Las Vegas, Nevada - HUMAN POSITION:
High Grade Gypsum is seeking an experienced individual to undertake all aspects of Human Resources, Compliance and Financial Accounting; including inventory, cost accounting and payroll. This role will report directly to the Controller and will work closely with different departments.

HUMAN RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Hazardous Materials regulations and laws
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government safety requirements and reporting
On-boarding of new employees
Maintain personnel files and ensure compliance
Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and trucking industry processes
Instruct drivers regarding company regulations, penalties for infraction of rules, and safety policies and procedures
Investigate accidents involving company trucks, question witnesses and drivers to determine causes of accidents. Create reports and review findings from accident investigations
Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment
Track and process payroll
Other job related duties as requested
ACCOUNTING RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform all accounting operations including preparation of financial reports, A/R, A/P, inventory and GL
Track and process payroll
Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting, as needed
Research and solve technical accounting issues
Support month-end and year-end close process
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
Maintain account analyses and reconciliations
Coordinate with other teams to ensure timely recording of transactions and the integrity and accuracy of financial reports
Coordinate accounts payable procedures to ensure timely recording and payment to vendors
Other job related duties as requested
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
3+ years of experience in trucking safety compliance and human resources
5+ years of overall accounting experience
Degree in Accounting and/or Human Resources
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, determine priorities as projects arise and ensure that all projects get completed in a timely manner.
Exceptional communications skills, written and oral
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Able to work as a team member within all finance and interdisciplinary teams
Available to work extended hours, as required
DOT/ OSHA compliance: 3 years
Trucking: 3 years
Computer Skills: 5+ years
Knowledge of QuickBooks accounting systems
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
HOURS & COMPENSATION
Salary depending on experience
