Sr. Cost Accountant Job Opening in Clearfield, Utah - THE OPPORTUNITY:
As the Cost Accountant, you will oversee all inventory cost and margin analysis, in addition to general ledger duties. You are responsible for serving as a team leader in the finance department creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization. This role also serves as a consultant for managers within the organization, advising them of current budgetary information and working with managers to create a fiscal strategy that aligns with the goals of the organization.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Maintain cost accounting and inventory systems.
Inventory ? report and reconcile inventories of raw materials and finished product, interfacing with ERP(Macola)
Assist in the month end close of the general ledger and perpetual inventory system.
Reconcile raw material and finished goods inventories.
Analyzes accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department
Completion of monthly financial reports, reconciliations and fixed asset management
Collaborates with various departments to determine accruals and status of production related capital projects and inventory.
Responsible for accurate inventory for preparation of schedules for Financial.
Interpret and report complex data
Develop and implement Improvements to accounting processes and procedures, by analysis current policies and procedures
Prepare journal entries for the month end close in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
Review and recommend internal policies and procedures and US GAAP reporting
Continuous development of current policies and processes, including documentation in the form of manuals.
KEYS TO SUCCESS:
Bachelor?s degree in accounting
5-7 years of experience of accounting with a minimum of 3 years with cost accounting
Aptitude for working with large data sets, cost accounts, and financial modeling.
Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with enterprise level ERP accounting systems, Macola is a plus but not required
Expertise in Excel, Crystal Reports, inventory management system and accounting software packages
