The accountant is responsible for supporting the department by performing weekly and monthly functions that will range from reconciling GL accounts to assisting with annual audit preparation and tax reporting.
Principal Responsibilities:
Assist with the preparation of the monthly financial statements including supporting reports for management review.
Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and post reconciling journal entries.
Assemble and post monthly accruals.
Post payments into sub ledger and maintain excel workbooks.
Prepare investment portfolio journal entries and maintain excel workbooks.
Maintain and update general ledger accounts in JDE.
Manage 1099 year end processing.
Assist with annual audit preparation and tax reporting.
Support the accounting department with special projects and team efforts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
Required Skills and Experience:
2+ years of related experience.
A solid understanding of GAAP.
Ability to work independently and as a team player.
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
Takes ownership of work and is highly motivated.
JD Edwards experience is highly preferred.
