Development Manager Job Opening in New York, New york - The Skin Cancer Foundation, based in NYC, is currently recruiting for a Development Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Development, this position will support our mission to decrease the prevalence of skin cancer through support of the organization?s fundraising and special event efforts.
This is an opportunity to join an established not-for-profit organization under new leadership during an exciting period of growth. The Development Manager will play a key role in the Foundation?s efforts to build and strengthen the links to potential and existing donors and to consistently and significantly increase revenue.
We?re looking for a strong communicator and analytical thinker with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential donors as well as our physician membership base. This is a full-time position located in mid-town Manhattan providing excellent healthcare benefits and a profit-sharing pension plan.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies for solicitation that will grow annual revenue from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Engage and manage a portfolio of donors.
Solicit, identify, and cultivate donors (new, lapsed, renewals).
Manage Spring & year-end appeals (direct mail, online, social media donor engagement), and Annual Fund.
Create and execute 12-month donor touchpoint calendar to maximize individual giving. * Manage Membership Program & Cultivation Events

Manage New Member welcome and orientation process
Work with donors to transition them to create events.
Conduct research to gather data on potential donors, members, and donor markets as well as analyze donor trends.
Develop strategies to encourage new or increased contributions.
Meet with donors and potential funders.
Assist the Sr. Director of Development in developing and evaluating short and long-term fundraising strategies.
Reconcile records with finance department.
Monitor progress to goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Assist with database management and donor acknowledgement process, as necessary.
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s Degree in business, marketing or nonprofit leadership.
5-7 years of relevant professional fundraising experience.
Experience working on a high functioning team and able to achieve targets.
Personable but assertive and able to nurture key relationships.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Knows how to identify and maintain relationships with donors, increase reach across the country, and secure gifts.
Enthusiastic, inspiring, and knows how to motivate donors and build a dynamic donor base.
Experience with successfully executing annual campaign and appeals.
Experience with portfolio management.
Self-motivated, and is constantly seeking new and creative ways to successfully fundraise.
Has the experience, confidence, and communication skills to interact with people in senior positions.
Has at least a three-year track record of nonprofit fundraising from individual donors.
Has experience in planning/executing fundraising events.
Has experience with peer-to-peer and online fundraising.
Has experience with corporate fundraising and grants (not required but ideal).
Has experience with Wealth Engine, Salesforce or similar CRM (preferred).
Knows how to write reports and prepare presentations to communicate fundraising program data.
Strong attention to detail, knack for organization and ability to multitask are key.
Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure.
Is mission-driven and enjoys implementing fundraising and sponsorship strategies.
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
