Line Cook temporary position Job Opening in new york, New York - Line Cook temporary position Temporary position which may lead to permanent position. Job summary Cooks on the kitchen line when we are open for service. Prepares salads & other cold food in accordance with club recipes & standards. Summary of essential job functions ? Prepares all salad items before each shift (wash & cut lettuce, vegetables, fruits, meats, etc.) and maintains product levels during service hours. Prepares some baked products. ? Prepares salads and other cold items for special functions. ? Makes sandwiches according to club recipes and standards and that correct portion control and presentation are applied. ? Slices & portions cold cooked meat, fish, poultry for preparing appetizers, cold entrees ? Prepares cold sauces, salad dressings, stuffing ? Canap?s for parties ? Cleans & sanitizes all equipment & work surfaces and ensures that pantry area refrigerator are neat & clean. ? Sets up, maintains and breaks down salad prep station. ? Notifies chef regarding ordering requirements ? Maintains a safe & sanitary work station and ensures all food handling and product temperatures conform with required Weston & Wesport Health District Code with particular attention to avoid "cross contamination". ? Maintains neat & clean professional appearance. ? Ensures all reusable leftovers are correctly stored (& labeled if necessary). ? Assists with other duties as assigned by chef Minimum requirements No specific education requirements for this position. Experience working in a professional kitchen. Abilities required Ability to lift commercial size pots and pans, ability to perform physical duties required to work in a kitchen including standing for extended periods of time.
