Accounts Receivable - Cash Posting Job Opening in Grand Rapids, Michigan - SUMMARY
This position is responsible for posting all cash receipts lock box, ACH, live checks and bank downloads.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Post high-volume of cash daily
Apply cash remittances, consisting of lockbox deposits, credit cards, and ACH / wires, accurately and in a timely manner.
Research and initiate resolution of unapplied cash items by consulting customers.
Complete credits or adjusting entries
Work directly with customers to improve remittance processes and enhance relationships.
Perform cash reconciliation on disputed applications, as necessary.
Perform reconciliation to apply payments for 3rd party remittances.
Assist in the closing and auditing of monthly, quarterly and yearly GL Accounts.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have good interpersonal, problem-solving, decision-making, planning and organizational skills
Position requires a high level of accuracy Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and emailing tools in Microsoft Outlook General understanding of inventory/purchase orders/bill of ladings Sense of urgency/able to manage time/meet deadlines Knowledge of general accounting principles Good data entry skills along with an aptitude for numbers Experience in operating Excel spreadsheets and accounting software Effective written and verbal communication skills Strong computer skills, across multiple systems
Strong analytical skills Ability to handle a high volume transactions and problem resolution Ability to think strategically and support business objectives
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate?s degree and a minimum of one year in Accounts Receivable preferably in a manufacturing environment.
