Government Bid-Sales Specialist Job Opening in Portland, Oregon - Cestusline is a provider of hand safety PPE to numerous industries including Oil and Gas as well as Heavy Duty Construction. Cestusline is looking for an Government Bid-Sales Specialist who acts as an Inside Sales Specialist to engage federal government, military, and state government clients, utilizing government/military websites (Orpin, FedBizOpps, FBO, USFCR etc.) to maintain and increase business. This position will be based out of the Portland, OR office and will involve building the program from the ground up.
Statement of Responsibilities Prepare purchasing contracts and agreements for submittal to various governmental purchasing groups and agencies. Manage all Bids, Solicitations, Un-Solicited Proposals and most large Quotations submitted by the Government Divisions. Be responsible to understand Terms & Conditions, and any "special" requirements on bids and solicitations. Work with Contract Specialists in reviewing quotes to make sure we are in compliance with regulations.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Sign-up for automatic receipt of all GSA, E-Buy, Fed-Bid and all state and federal sites.
Develop a daily plan and execute an engagement strategy for government and military sectors
Actively seek new business opportunities by proactively researching online contract databases
Build relationships with client representatives by providing outstanding customer service, timely response, and assistance to customers with demand planning
Learn the product line, its specialized applications, and its potential
Coordinate professionally with company personnel to efficiently complete projects and address customer concerns
Maintain and update the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system (Sales IQ)
Support and communicate the company mission, values and culture.
Maintain the government facing website to remain up to date and relevant
Learn how to deal with contracting officers, how to gain required information and learn how to ask right questions. Learn what you can and can't do, say and/or ask!
:
3+ years government contract sales experience using online resources like and US Federal Contractor Registration. Proven track record required
High energy, entrepreneurial, ?hunter? spirit
Strong phone and email communication skills
Proven track record of success both personal and professional
Be able to do detailed reading and comprehension, technical writing experience and skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM.
Needs an excellent understanding of GSA Contracting, plus a good understanding of "how the government does business".
Be able to adapt to work under pressure and short time lines, as well as work with and possibly manage others.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret bids and quotes, technical procedures and governmental documents and regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively communicate with multi-level personnel as well as vendors and their representatives
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, commissions, proportions, margins, and mark-up.
Should be self-motivated, goal oriented, quality driven and capable of working without a lot of supervision.
