Enhancement Center Specialist RRT .8
This position is for a .8 Registered Respiratory Therapist ( RRT ) working on the Day shift. Monday through Friday. This schedule may also include some evening shifts.
Qualifications:
Registered Respiratory Therapist with current license in the State of Ohio
Current ACLS and BLS Certification
Successful completion of COPD Educator, Asthma Educator, or Pulmonary Disease educator course through the AARC and Smoking Cessation Certification within 6 months of hire.
Mastery of the AACVPR Core Competencies
Attend within one year of hire LaCrosse Cardiac Rehab Comprehensive Training Workshop if no previous experience in exercise physiology techniques
Pulmonary and Cardiac care and/or critical care experience preferred
Excellent communication skills with customers of diverse backgrounds
Excellent customer service
Competent in telemetry monitoring and identification of cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias
Proficient in computer documentation and operation
Familiar with outcome measurements and methodology
Familiar with reimbursement guidelines.
Knowledge of documentation requirements
Awareness of Marketing needs.

Skill, Ability, and Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the day to day operations of the Pulmonary/Cardiac Rehabilitation and secondary prevention programs of the Lifestyle Enhancement Center.. This includes patient assessment, treatment plan, education and exercise session supervision, implementation of secondary prevention strategies and coordination of care.
Documents daily sessions, progress reports, and individualized treatments.
Ensures correct charging practices.
Stays abreast of regulatory and insurance requirements for program compliance. Compiles and distributes documentation to health information systems for permanent medical record.
Identifies, compiles and reports out come measurements as required by current regulatory standards.
Works with medical director in plan of care for patient.
Develops procedure and policies in accordance with AACVPR guidelines. Coordinates plans of care and specific patient needs with family and referring physicians.
Participates in community and educational activities concerning the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and secondary prevention program as identified.
Assists Respiratory Supervisor and Pulmonary Rehab coordinator with education of inpatients who have COPD and other Pulmonary Diseases.
Provides education and assessment in conjunction with respiratory supervisor to partnering nursing homes.
