IT Project Manager Job Opening in salem, Oregon - IT Project Manager The Project Manager is responsible for the overall management of a upcoming Project in the Salem area. Responsibilities include planning, directing, controlling and coordinating activities for the program, and for technical writing of the project plan. The project manager will define operational direction and institute remedial action(s) in order to satisfy customer requirements while achieving project specific targets/goals and customer satisfaction. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Lead project teams and facilitate the communication and interaction amongst the functional representatives. Work with the Project team to direct the daily project activities and coordinate the work of members of the project team to ensure that Deliverables are met as scheduled. Develop the project schedule. Track project against its schedule, and against phase review objectives. Attend the Status Meetings to report schedule status for each active phase. Develop and implement recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated eventualities. Coordinate with customer to provide necessary program status and obtain customer feedback. Review, analyze, and interpret the technical and administrative requirements contained in requests for proposal (RFP), requests for quotation (RFQ), requests for information (RFI), etc., to generate material used in preparation of formal responses. Produce the scope of work / work breakdown structure, schedule, issues, and deliverables with the customer. Serve as focal point for all communications between the Customer and as needed and in conjunction with the applicable account managers. Manage the project contract by ensuring timely and compliant delivery of all deliverables, holding the employees accountable for timely and compliant delivery of their deliverables. Maintain and manage the project schedule to meet all contract requirements. Report schedule status to the customer. Participate in proposal review meetings. Conduct regular project meetings with both in-house personnel and the customer, as needed. Promote a positive professional image of the company internally and externally. Provide superior customer service to all internal and external customers. Adhere to all health and Safety rules & procedures. Meets agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner. Arrives to work, meetings, appointments, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled. Travel to multiple customer sites to confirm the project is meeting deadlines. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Degree in Technology or other related field, or equivalent preferred. Five or more years' project management experience leading project teams, preferably in an IT environment. Knowledge of program management tools and procedures. Knowledge of people management skills, particularly influence management and conflict resolution. Knowledge of operations, including scheduling, procurement, manufacturing, test engineering, and quality systems. Strong , negotiation, leadership, and assertiveness skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills Strong computer skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft software programs, such as word processing, spreadsheet, database, scheduling (MS Project), and electronic mail applications. Responsible for identifying program risks and interpreting contractual obligations, and communicating project goals and requirements. Valid State Driver's License required.
