Senior Accountant Job Opening in Boston, Massachusetts - Greater Boston based Software Company is in search of a Technical Accounting Manager with interest in gaining deeper knowledge of post-acquisition, technical accounting and revenue recognition. We are excited to be recruiting a Senior Technical Accountant to join a growing team contributing to an evolving industry.
As a Technical Accounting Manager, you will have an opportunity for involvement on special projects and process improvements while interacting with C level members of the finance, corporate development and legal teams, along with external auditors to ensure accurate reporting and full compliance.
Responsibilities
Involvement with determining proper software revenue recognition for complex and/or non-standard contracts
Assess various technical accounting measures where you will make an important impact on our over 4,500 client base, which includes over half of the Fortune 500
Lead the implementation of ASC 606
Apply keen analysis on the impact of new or proposed accounting standards, interpretations or regulations from the FASB, AICPA, PCAOB, EITF, and SEC.
Utilize solid understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
Integrative activities and purchase accounting for post-acquisition
Employ resourcefulness through effective research on technical accounting matters and assist in the preparation of technical accounting whitepapers.
Requirements
Degree in Accounting
3-5 plus years? experience with public accounting and/or software industry/public accounting experience combination required
Certified Professional Accountant strongly desired
Experience with technical accounting, research and reporting, including purchase accounting and software revenue recognition
Solid understanding of US GAAP
Strong Excel skills
Light travel may be required
