Assistant Estimator Job Opening in Kirkland, Washington - Summary : The Assistant Estimator supports the Senior Estimator in all job functions. This includes creating accurate cost and schedule estimates at all stages of plan development, beginning with initial concept designs and the Letter of Opinion and concluding with the highly detailed Contract Budgets and Contract Schedules. The Estimator works closely with the projected Project Manager and/or Superintendent when creating estimates and then assists in the job hand-off to the project team. Participates in new business sales. Continually improves estimating systems.

Responsibilities
Estimating
Collaborate with Director of Pre-Construction and project team to issue Letters of Opinion and Line Item Letters of Opinion.
Manage bidding process to create Contract Budgets and Schedules
Research ways to control costs.
Archive subcontractor information for historical cost estimating.
Prepare for and attend meetings with Architects and Owners.
Develop initial construction schedule.
Review estimates and schedule with Director of Pre-Construction and project team.
Maintain a work load GAANT chart for prioritizing and planning upcoming preconstruction tasks.
Job cost time for all employees during the preconstruction phase.
General Office
Assist in receiving incoming phone calls when needed.
Assist project superintendents when needed with research, home owners manuals and pricing.
Attend weekly office meetings and work on tasks given in those meetings.
Work with Director of Pre-Construction to develop new estimating processes.
Participate in developing and improving company systems.
Assist project team with project start up.
Accounting (when requested)
Enter invoices, change orders and purchase orders for projects.
Work with superintendents to code bills.
Run end of month summary and review with superintendents.
Assist Controller with additional tasks as needed.
Enter daily time sheets for employees.
Process monthly billing for clients.
