Accounting Manager Job Opening in Arlington Heights, Illinois - Job Purpose:
Responsible for leading and directing the accounting department. Responsible for developing accounting policies, procedures and controls and implementing accounting systems. Also for ensuring for ensuring that all actuals, budgeting, forecasting, and long range plan activities adhere to IDPH, IDHS, IDOA, IHFS and company policies.
Duties:
Ensures that the accounting department is in financial compliance with all applicable federal, State and local laws.
Be familiar with the applicable rules of the Departments: Illinois Department of Human Services, Illinois Department on Aging, Illinois Department of Public Health, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, MCOs Managed Care Organizations.
Ensure the financial completion, maintenance and submission of reports and records as required by the applicable federal, state and local laws.
Maintain ongoing liaison with the governing body and accounting department.
Have the authority for the management and operation of accounting department.
Maintain appropriate personnel records, administrative records and all policies and procedures of the accounting department.
Employ qualified personnel in accordance with job descriptions in accounting department.
Provide orientation of new staff, regularly scheduled in-service education programs and opportunities for continuing education for the accounting staff.
Designate in writing the qualified staff member to act in the absence of the controller.
Ensures that the numbers and qualifications of personnel available to perform duties are sufficient to meet the accounting department needs.
In Accounting Department ensures that policies and procedures meet federal, state, local and accrediting organization?s regulations and standards.
Maintains through sound fiscal management.
Maintains liaison among the governing body, professional personnel, and staff.
Responds to requests and recommendations from the Board and the Professional Advisory Committee.

4 Year degree in Accounting/Finance.
Deep QuickBooks understanding
Experience processing a payroll of at least 300 employees.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong interactive and communication skills.
Detailed oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Results oriented and receptive to change.
High energy, self-motivated with initiative.
Ability to work effectively in a position that is deadline driven. A strong Customer Focus, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient with MS Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel. Ability to work under pressure and complete responsibilities within required deadlines.
