The Controller will have complete responsibility for the accounting and finances including detailed analyses and support to the Officers in financial management and will serve as an integral part of the Management Team. This position will have ongoing responsibility for overall management of the Accounting Staff and their duties. The responsibilities of this position will vary based on the needs and priorities of the company. The goal of this position is to strengthen the current financial position of the company through improvements in cash management, budgeting, controlling of inventory, managing and analyzing various areas of the business to reduce costs and improve efficiencies. Maintaining the highest level of confidentiality is critical for this position.
Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for insuring all financial activities are recorded, maintained and reported in accordance with accounting standards
Responsible for all financial functions of the corporation including supervision of the Accounting Staff for daily general accounting activities
Provide cost accounting for manufacturing
Timely month end and year-end financial closing and reporting
Implement and maintain proper accounting procedures and controls including auditing functions
Provide control, review, authorization and reporting of business expenditures
Provide treasury services including providing strategic liaison/coordinator relationships between the Company and bankers, auditors, financial advisors, insurance providers and other third party financial support agencies
Provide financial reporting including monthly financial statements, internal financial operating reports, financial forecasts, cash flow and tax matters (preparation of required schedules for completion of tax returns)
Provide financial and business analysis, modeling and recommendation for Management
Coordinate strategic planning and execution of business plans
Implement and oversee departmental budgets
Sales tax calculation for IL, CA and other states as required
Provide weekly reports to President and Vice President highlighting the status of open projects, department priorities and issues
Serve as back up to manage outsourced IT support to maintain integrity of IT business systems
Travel required is 10%-15%
Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned
