Responsibilities:
This is a junior accountant role.
This position ensures that corporate accounting related functions (transactions, entries, reporting and maintenance) for Credit are properly executed, including, but not limited to the enhancement of internal controls and key control documentation.
According to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Group Accounting Handbook support month-end/year-end financial processes, internal and external audit requirements, and contribute to accounting related process improvements as they arise.
Support the month-end closing process for VCI including:
Prepare and process assigned daily/monthly journal entries for IFRS purposes
Prepare cash deposits as necessary
Reconcile, research and resolve outstanding items pertaining to bank reconciliations
Reconcile all assigned accounts
Support the development and maintenance of financial controls procedures for financial reporting under IFRS guidelines
Support annual closing process for VCI:
Assist with internal and external audits with regards to control testing, account verifications, external confirmations, and other related projects.
Download daily cash statements and prepare daily cash reconciliation of all incoming funds to VCI
Perform and review daily accounting for treasury and cash activity
Perform daily reconciliation of subvention activity under direction of VCI Subvention Specialist
Perform daily reconciliation of dealer bonus program activity including but not limited to collaboration with Herndon Accounting
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
4 ? 6 years professional accounting and financial analysis experience
2 ? 3 years financial reporting experience
1 ? 2 years financial services or consumer finance experience
1 ? 2 years enterprise software experience (Oracle or SAP), and personal computer financial application knowledge and experience
Analytical and conceptual thinking ? using logic and reason, creative and strategic
Communication skills ? interpersonal, presentation and written
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access
Integration ? joining people, processes or systems
Influencing and negotiation skills

In-depth knowledge of accounting procedures and principles and their application in a financial services business

Experience with FIS AutoSuite system
