Accounting Manager Job Opening in Livonia, Michigan - The Accounting Manager manages and leads the operations of the company taking responsibility for all cash management, financial planning, reporting, and control of the operation while providing input to the President for forward planning and control. The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate initiative, a careful regard for accuracy, thorough knowledge of relevant accounting principles and processes, a commitment to integrity, while promoting and supporting a positive culture of teamwork and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Management
Oversee all operations of the accounting department and developing processes and procedures optimized to achieve the department's goals
Serve with other members of top management in setting strategy, executing the operating plan, and making decisions to manage the company for effectiveness
Identify and implement ideas for cost enhancement
Ensures confidentiality in all matters pertaining to both business and employee relations
Maintain and develop strong relationships with co-workers, contractors, vendors, and service providers
Promotes a positive-team philosophy
Accounting
Cash/budget management
Ensure that bank reconciliations are completed
Ensure that required debt payments are made timely
Maintain the chart of accounts
Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
Reporting
Prepare and analyze company financial statements
Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
Manage the system of management cost reporting and produce monthly cost reports
Calculate and issue financial operating metrics
Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
Demonstrated proficiency with financial analysis and reporting, cash management, general ledger, AP and AR.
Experience working with Quick Books
Experienced managing finances for multiple companies and intercompany journal entries
Personable: has demonstrated success in working with others inside and outside of finance to understand the company's needs, developing a collaborative solution, and executing solutions
Experience with business banking and financing relationships
An innovator
