Bookkeeper wanted for busy therapy clinic Job Opening in Portland, Oregon - We are a thriving children?s Behavioral Health Clinic located in Portland?s beautiful John?s Landing area, and we are currently in need of a bookkeeper to assist our Billing and Claims Department.
This position would be ideal for anyone interested in developing or growing their career in medical billing, accounting, or office administration. We are a fast paced, rapidly growing company looking for someone that will grow with us long term. If you are organized, have excellent office skills, familiarity with quickbooks or other accounting software, and some experience with bookkeeping, accounts receivable, and/or medical billing, we?d love to speak with you!
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Analyzes EOB?s, and documents patient account activity.
Researches and solves payment discrepancies.
Performs frequent account audits.
Maintains a thorough understanding of insurance code rates, billing methods, and contract terms.
Works independently and manages time efficiently
Works effectively with all departments.
Demonstrates professionalism, discretion and good judgement in all interactions with co-workers, clients/families and insurance companies to insure timely resolution of discrepancies and disputes
Other administrative duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in accounting or medical billing a plus.
Knowledge of HIPAA and experience with HIPAA protocol preferred.
Meticulous attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and the capability to proactively solve problems.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency in Quickbooks, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Docs. Other online database systems a plus
One year office experience preferred, medical office a plus. Will train the right person.
Confidence to collect money and maintain an excellent relationship with clients and insurance carriers.
Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Willingness to learn industry specific database software

Position: Bookkeeper
Job Type: Part-time, flexible hours, with Full-time hours available as experience grows
Hours: 4 hours or more per day Monday through Friday. Schedule is flexible.
FLSA: Not exempt.
Wage: $20-$25 per hour
Position requires a criminal background check prior to employment.
