Accounting Manager Job Opening in Lincoln City, Oregon - Position Summary
Responsible for financial accounting and reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements. Maintains general ledger and associated journals. Produces accurate and timely financial statements and other financial documents. Analyzes and reports on results of financial and operational activities. Supervises Accounting, Revenue Audit subject matter areas in Accounting.
Essential Functions
Manages the daily operations and administrative responsibilities for Revenue Audit, , and staff accountants.
Responsible for all long and short term planning and of Revenue Audit, Responsible for the development and execution of the Accounting budget and MBOs.
Develops, implements, and evaluates goals, objectives, programs, promotions, budgets, policies and procedures for Revenue Audit, and staff accountants.
Maintains financial accounting information and general ledger in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, for several separate entities.
Maintains all associated journals and schedules to support general ledger.
Supervises Revenue Audit and staff accountants.
Produces timely financial statements and schedules in accordance with required timetables.
Analyze financial and operation data and produces management reports.
Assists in ensuring the assets of the business are protected with sound internal controls.
Assists in directing the audits, taxes, accounting, purchasing, real estate, and insurance activities for all entities.
Develops instructions and audit procedures for new systems and refines the audit procedures for the existing systems.
Assists in monitoring, evaluating, and recording banking transactions and the cashflow of all entities.
Completes, monitors, and develops staff through evaluation and development plans.
Mentors, trains and develops staff as it relates to service and sales.
Trains employees in designated areas and monitors progress.
Develops and maintains a teamwork environment.
Handles all personnel issues in a timely manner according to Chinook Winds policies and

Position Qualifications
Competency Statements
Demonstrated ability to accurately maintain a set of accounting records and produce timely and accurate financial statements
Ability to multitask
Ability to meet tight deadlines established by Tribal Council, Gaming Commission and other governmental agencies
Ability to supervise staff in multiple disciplines within the Accounting function
Must be extremely detail oriented
Demonstrated ability to utilize multiple software systems
Professional appearance and behavior

Education
High School Diploma or GED
Bachelor?s Degree in Business or Accounting
Experience
5 years? experience in preparing financial accounting records and reporting them to executive level staff
Five years? supervisor experience
5 years? Native American gaming experience in accounting or finance
3 years? working with outside vendors such as: Audit Firms, Insurance Brokers & Financial Institutions
3 years? experience working with federal tax forms, W2g, 1042s, 945 and 1099 as they pertain to gaming jackpots and prize issues
Computer Skills
Microsoft Office advanced level including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Experience with Oasis Gaming Accounting systme
Experience with JD Edwards preferred
Experience with Ultimate payroll systems preferred
Experience with Micros point of sale system preferred
Certificates & Licenses
Must obtain a Siletz Tribal Gaming License
Valid driver?s license
CPA or CMA preferred
