PT Bridge Advocate - Non-Profit Job Opening in Kansas City, Missouri - Bridge Advocate- Part Time (20 hours)
Rose Brooks Center, a non-profit domestic violence agency seeks a part-time, non-exempt Bridge Advocate, reporting to the Bridge Program Supervisor . Principle responsibilities of the position is to provide crisis/non-crisis advocacy services to victims of domestic violence including in the healthcare setting. Position includes direct service activities such as safety planning, assistance with accessing shelter and other community resources, assist with filing victim?s compensation and emergency orders of protection, and follow-up contacts. Maintains accurate and complete documentation of services for grant compliance and reporting requirements specific to the role. Supports the mission and values of the agency, collaborates across program teams within the agency, as well as systems and persons outside the agency. Performs other duties as assigned.
WORK HOURS:
This is a part time, non - exempt position and will work approximately 20 hours each week. Schedule is 2.5 days per week, some holidays that may fall on a normal day off. The Bridge Advocate works in an office, hospital, and clinic environment and requires limited local travel. It requires flexible hours including evening and weekends and participation in the on-call rotation.

Perform all job responsibilities while demonstrating proficiency in all RBC Competencies and a commitment to the overall mission of Rose Brooks Center.
Perform functions of job according to agency policies and procedures.
Attend scheduled staff, team and supervision meetings.
Participate in all required trainings and optional trainings as determined.
This position requires carrying a pager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Experience
Advocacy/Crisis intervention experience
Proficient use of Windows operating system and programs
Demonstrate culturally competent practices
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to organize time, plan and meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people
Preferred Experience/Skills
Bachelor?s Degree in a related field
Hospital/Healthcare experience
Experience providing domestic violence advocacy services
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
Valid driver?s license and proof of insurance.
Candidate must consent to a Background Check and DFS (Central Registry/Child Abuse) Screening; both must come back clear.
