Controller Job Opening in Houston, Texas - Job Title: Controller for Amerimex Motor & Controls:
Reports to: CFO
Job Location: Houston, TX with limited domestic travel
Pay Range: $110,000-$125,000, 10-15% Discretionary Bonus Available
As the Controller, you will be responsible for hands-on operations of the company?s financial team, directing the organization?s overall financial policies and driving profitable growth. As the successful candidate, you should be a highly motivated professional with a sense of urgency, a proven track record and strong strategic and communication skills. We will rely on your widespread experiences and passion for providing financial leadership to develop and continue to grow the company?s profitable business and ensure the financial well-being of the company in all areas of its operations. Additional responsibilities will include managing all phases of the accounting process, the annual budgeting process, and company year-end audits. Broad responsibilities will also include business development support and functional leadership for best practices for human resources, IT and general administrative needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
Streamline reporting, forecasting and analysis to drive superior decision-making; identify areas that provide low value and work to reallocate resources to provide more meaningful information for decision support.
Set-up and maintain an operating and control system for a growing business.
Ensure accuracy of internal and external financial reporting; ensure that effective internal controls are in place and compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
Coordinate annual audit and tax compliance; maintain depreciation schedules and tax-related calculations.
Conduct detailed analytical reviews of sales, gross margins, operating cost and profit margins by served industries, customer, and value propositions.
Monitor and report on the Operating Funds Flow performance and needs of the company by providing estimates of funds generated by earnings after interest and taxes, working capital efficiency metrics and trends, Cap Ex requirement, and other funding requirements.
Provide management with applicable financial reports and analysis.
Support sales organizations with contract reviews.
Take ownership of the accounting and finance function.
Produce monthly financial statements and analysis for review by President, CEO and CFO.
Support implementations, migration or upgrades of financial systems.
Maintain daily bank deposits, monthly reconciliation and wire transfers.
Provide payroll support and oversight.
Directly supervise 5+ employees in the Accounting department
Train employees; plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
Lead, manage and hold team accountable for agreed upon results and develop team members through all levels of responsibility.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Knowledge and skill requirements:
Must be a strong and organized leader with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required. Specific requirements include:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus.
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in accounting in an industrial manufacturing or services environment with 5+ years of managerial experience required.
Percentage of Completion accounting experience required .
GAAP experience a must.
Proven ability to generate and analyze income statement, balance sheet, revenue forecast and cash flow statements.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in fast-paced, results oriented environment.
Effective time management and problem-solving skills.
Skilled at Microsoft Excel.
