Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Accountant / Financial Analyst, you will prepare and analyze financial statements and/or reports, validating appropriate disclosures and developing supplemental content for publication to the classroom community. This senior role will involve providing direction and coaching to junior staff and new hires.

Senior Accountant responsibilities:
Reviewing and preparing journal entries and/or other accounting transactions while ensuring general activity is processed in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
Drafting, validating, and/or adhering to standard operating procedures as well as identifying gaps, making recommendations and presenting solutions to address internal control weaknesses
Researching and correcting errors and anomalies identified in various financial reports
Supporting efforts to review and analyze related business processes and recommending new and innovative solutions
Preparing, reviewing, submitting, and briefing on various ad-hoc reports, summaries, and other information to members of management both internally and client representatives
Senior Accountant requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business related degree with a minimum of 24 credit hours in accounting
3+ years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and/or financial management
Ability to work well in a team environment
Proficient in Federal Internal Control reporting and OMB A-123 circulars
Fast learner with willingness to learn new tasks and business functions
Proficient in the use of the MS Office suite; specifically, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Federal Accounting experience is preferred, but not required
CPA candidate and/or CGFM preferred
Ability to occasionally work extra hours to meet deadlines
Ability to complete a background investigation and credit check as well as being able to obtain a security clearance
U.S. Citizenship
