Branch Manager / Plant Manager Job Opening in Ranger, Georgia - An established water treatment chemicals company that grew to take its place as the second largest bleach and chlorine repackager in the United States are seeking a Branch Manager for their Ranger, GA location. The company has eight domestic plants and two foreign facilities enabling us to service 24 states and 24 Caribbean and Central American countries. As a branch manager, you will be responsible for managing all facility activities, which includes, but is not limited to:
supervising personnel, plant operations (production and maintenance), facility physical
renovations or new construction, implementing and complying with all company and
government paper work requirements, managing the branch truck fleet and drivers, and
responding to all customer orders, problems or complaints.
Responsibilities:
· Supervise Start-up and Shut-down of the Chlorine Dock, Acid Dock and if applicable, Sulfur Dioxide and Ammonia Dock (including the operation and maintenance of all packaging equipment: gas detectors, gauges, probes, calcium air dryers, etc.)
· Know and perform all job responsibilities of the chlorine dock lead operator, and if applicable warehouse supervisor, bleach production operator, ammonia operator, sulfur dioxide operator, dispatcher, tank installer, hydrotester, sand blaster, valve rebuilder and administrative assistant.
· Prioritize production, maintenance and construction project activities
· Liaison between the branch and corporate
· Maintaining an adequate stock of supplies for all operations in the facility, including office, break room and personal hygiene supplies.
· Understanding of transportation regulations regarding: drug/alcohol testing policy, commercial driver?s license, accident reports, driver qualifications, parts and accessories needed for safe operation of the vehicle/tanker, hours of service (log books), inspection, repair and maintenance requirements and shipping of hazardous materials
· Inspection of the chemical quality control reports to ensure that chemical product tests are properly recorded and that the chemical products meet the required sales specifications.
· Ensure that customer ordered product, including tank installations, is delivered in a timely and proper fashion
· Work with the sales representative in handling and resolving of customer complaints or problems
· Knowledge of environmental regulatory standards and company policy regarding a release of a chemical to the environment and the understanding of waste management requirements related to the storage and disposal of required materials.
· Must be HAZWOPPER trained: respond to all hazardous material incidents on or off site and properly documenting all responses (includes follow-up notifications, if required)
· Comply with all government operating permits and reporting requirements
· Ensure that all emergency response equipment/materials is in a state of readiness
· Active in community outreach programs (for example: local emergency planning committees, facility tours, fire department drills, etc.)
· Required to handle all announced and unannounced audits by government regulators, insurance representatives, etc.
· Supervise the collection of data for daily, monthly and yearly inventories
· Ensure that all production paperwork is properly completed and maintained
· Ensure that all personnel paperwork, like time cards, employment applications, drug/alcohol testing, exit interviews, accident reports, etc., are properly completed
· Administer and supervise the branch training program: train all new employees and retrain employees as specified by the training agenda or as needed
· Implement and adhere to the Responsible Distribution Program
· Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility, which includes all production and storage areas, the office, shop and yard.
· Ensure that the facility is secure during and after work hours
· Ensure that orders are placed for production and maintenance materials and supplies
3+ years of manufacturing distribution management experience
Chemicals or Industrial experience a plus
5+ years of supervisory experience
Bachelor Degree preferred
