Data Analyst Job Opening in Austin, Texas - PotentiaMetrics (Austin, TX) is seeking a Data Analyst .
PotentiaMetrics is enhancing medical evidence with real-world clinical and economic outcomes data and predictive analytic platforms. Our outcomes and insights products support independent comparative effectiveness, personalized medicine, value-based care and outcomes based claims adjudication.

Position Overview:
As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of multiple database systems within the PotentiaMetrics virtual environment. These include both simple operational relational databases, data warehouses, data marts, supporting infrastructure, and surrounding data manipulation and presentation tools. Following an agile development methodology, your work will help deliver outcomes and insights platforms to support personized healthcare decisions. You will work with other engineers, software developers, business and data analysts, testers, users, company leadership and customer stakeholders to ensure project success. You will work on a variety of software and hardware platforms, primarily focusing on the LAMP () stack and Microsoft database management tools (SQL Server).
Responsibilities:
Collaborate on the design of database schemas, dimensional models, storage and extraction processes, and reporting and visualization requirements with other team members, product owners, and customer stakeholders.
Architect, develop, build, test and deploy databases via an iterative, agile development process
Create database definition and other documentation, making effective use of our Wiki, UML diagramming and other systems and techniques
Track and manage costs, assisting in development and maintenance of project budgets
Work with the (onshore and offshore) software development and testing teams, and collaborating to meet project timelines and ensure project success
Work with the analytics team to build, maintain, and populate data warehouses
Meet with customer representatives to analyze their data and create database extractions to ETL into PotentiaMetrics systems
Cleanse and otherwise prepare data for analysis and presentation to customers by other teammates
Execute ad hoc queries and analysis to respond to the impromptu requirements of customers and other team members
Oversee and participate in all database and ETL development
Participate in all data visualization and reporting development

Strong enterprise data management and SQL skills
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or other engineering-related fields
At least two (2) years of IT experience in data management, preferably working with Healthcare data
Fluency / deep expertise developing complex relational and dimensional database schemas
Fluency / deep expertise writing database queries in SQL
Experience installing, configuring and maintaining recent versions of MySQL and/or SQL Server
Experience monitoring and tuning MySQL and/or SQL Server databases for high performance
Experience with multi-node clusters of MySQL and/or SQL Server database servers
Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, dimensional data modeling (we?re a Kimball shop), business intelligence, and other enterprise data management concepts
Familiarity with Agile development practices & scrum methodology
Experience with deployment, data migration, regression testing and ongoing support of production systems/workloads, and the issues surrounding moving new releases to production in a live environment
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
Experience building analytic ?cubes? on top of data warehouses / dimensional models
Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or equivalent
Experience working in AWS or equivalent virtual hardware environments
Experience with automated testing tools, such as Selenium, JUnit, or PHPUnit
Experience with continuous integration tools, such as Jenkins or Bamboo
Experience with automation and configuration management tools, such as Ansible or Puppet
Experience with Elastic Beanstalk and Lambda on AWS
Familiarity with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence, or equivalent task and information management systems
Deep knowledge of modern healthcare data and analytic concepts (e.g HIPAA, ICD-9/10, etc.)
Experience with healthcare data sources (EMR?s, administrative, claims, etc.)
Understanding of the healthcare marketplace, trends, competitors, regulations and compliance
