Healthcare Data Analyst Job Opening in Houston, Texas - Position Summary:
The Healthcare Data Analyst is responsible for compiling and analyzing data for Company?s Knowledge and Data Analytics Department. The ideal candidate will have a background in data analytics as well as experience in the healthcare setting with a keen attention to detail. The ability to work independently and proactively to provide accurate and timely information to management for decision-making is a must. This position actively participates in process improvement and project resolution discussions.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Ability to lead analytics projects as directed by the Senior Data Analyst and/or Director of Analytics
Provide all business and spreadsheet analysis of financial and quality data utilizing the Company?s data analytics tool and data warehouse
Pull and prepare reports from database, including modeling, validating, trending and analysis * Translate data into meaningful information
Effectively communicate findings of various analyses to management team via clear and concise written reports and oral presentations
Interpret data to identify solutions and opportunities for company
Use data and all other available resources to pinpoint trends within company and market areas
Monitor claims payments for accuracy based on contract terms
Maintain a working knowledge & application of computer directories, folders and worksheets for filing and storing data related to the Company?s Knowledge and Data Analytics Department
Take customer support calls
Other duties as assigned
Required Experience / Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in related field required
Working knowledge of SQL and SSRS for report writing and data management
Proficient in Tableau, Excel, Access, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9 coding
Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize
Ability to flexibly and effectively work on multiple projects concurrently
Strong analytical skills
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent presentation skills
