Bonnier Publishing USA is seeking a highly qualified Controller to oversee the financial responsibilities of our growing publishing company. This individual will be accountable for financial operations of the company such as the production of monthly and annual financial reports, cash-flow management, and maintenance of accounting records. This position will report directly to the company?s CFO.
The ideal candidate will have publishing industry experience and must have strong knowledge of Intacct Financial Management Software.

What You'll Be Doing:
Compiling and analyzing financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
Distributing expenditures, encumbrances, receipts, and receivables according to schedules.
Performing statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and writes narrative reports explaining findings.
Analyzing financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers.
Auditing contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
Determining proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits.
Monitoring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
Reviewing, investigating, and correcting errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
Installing, modifying, documenting, and coordinating implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
Devising and implementing systems for general accounting.
Making recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures
Conducting studies and submitting recommendations for improving the organization?s accounting operation.
Collecting appropriate data and assisting in the preparation of federal, state, and local reports and tax returns.
What You?ll Bring to the Table:
Proficiency with Intaact Financial Management Software.
2+ years publishing Industry experience.
Four-year college degree or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in double entry accrual accounting methodologies.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Advanced knowledge of Accounting Software; Database Software; Internet Software; Payroll Systems; Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook); Publishing Software; Inventory Software; Order Processing Systems; Project Management Software; Word Processing Software (Word); Presentation Software (PowerPoint).
Excellent judgment and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle work-related stress is required
Friendly, courteous, service-oriented, professional, outgoing, and customer service oriented
Detail oriented while maintaining an extremely positive attitude
Must be able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision
Recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems
