Geneva Worldwide is leader in the Language Service field, providing interpretation, translation and transcription in 200+ languages around the world 24/7/365. Our NY based Firm, located in Midtown -West Manhattan, is looking for a dynamic, hands on Controller to help manage the day-to-day responsibilities of our Accounting department while working with Management to develop and implement operating plans and financial forecasts consistent with our overall business strategy. This is a key position reporting to the CEO. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to be extremely hands on and work with high volume of data and billing while manipulating system data from multiple sources.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
This is a hands-on position responsible for all Accounting functions including A/P, A/R, G/L and Payroll and Financial Reporting
Preparation of the Annual Budget, Quarterly Forecasts and other Financial Analysis to create management reports from various systems. This includes manipulating large pools of data in excel.
Meet with Project Teams on a monthly basis to discuss activity in order to forecast revenue trends and improve overall profit margin and cash flow.
Assess internal controls, streamline our accounting procedures and make recommended changes as necessary
Preparation of monthly financial statements including journal entry data and tax compliance.
Review of General Ledger Account Reconciliations to insure compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures
Coordinating the financial reporting component of internal and external audits
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Vendor negotiations as necessary
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in finance, accounting or related field required
5+ years directly related experience
Experience with Government contracts is a plus
Positive attitude a must
Excellent communication and leadership/ mentor skills for strong team
Must have demonstrated previous success improving cash flow, A/R and profit margin
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and QuickBooks Pro or other Accounting Software
Ability to work under pressure & time constraints
Strong analytical and technical accounting skills
Must be able to effectively multi-task and meet financial reporting deadlines
