Operations Research Scientist Job Opening in Knoxville, Tennessee - As a member of the Research and Development team, the Operations Research Scientist will be researching advanced software knowledge for our products applications. This research includes the design, modification, process development, software upgrades, defect engineering and other activities on meeting customer requirements for MapAnything Guide and Core products. The Operations Research Scientist is expected to be an expert in software development science and be effective in using statistics and measurement tools, project management, and documenting work results and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Experience in designing and implementing algorithms for large scale routing and scheduling problems
Experience with commercial integer programming solvers, heuristic search
Comfortable in working on distributed software projects using git, SVN, JIRA, Confluence, etc.
Experience with GIS systems, mapping data, PostGIS
General expertise in scripting, databases, etc.
Comfortable in Linux environment, basic expertise in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, etc.)
Ability to work in fast-paced environment, attention to detail, desire to be part of a high performance team developing scalable, cutting edge solutions
Qualifications:
MS + 5 years experience, or PhD + 2 years experience
Advanced degree in Applied Math, Computer Science, Operations Research, or Industrial Engineering
Programming experience in C/C++, Python, Java
