Responsibilities:
Experience in designing and architecting scalable cloud-based back end solutions for complex workflows
Advanced software development skills including managing large, distributed projects, unit testing, managing releases, setting up automated build/test, cloud deployment, etc.
General database skills, experience with GIS systems, mapping data, PostGIS, etc. desired
Experience in Hadoop, distributed computing, high performance computing, profiling, code optimization
Advanced skills in cloud environment (particularly AWS), including Elastic Map Reduce, Elastic Beanstalk
Ability to work in fast-paced environment, attention to detail, desire to be part of a high performance team developing scalable, cutting edge solution
Qualifications:
Advanced Degree in Computer Science
MS + 5 years experience, or PhD + 2 years experience
5+ years experience in Java, Python, C/C++
Experience utilizing developer tools and agile development methodology
Ability to effectively communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner
Fun, creative personality with excellent written and verbal communication skills
