Summary: The Food Bank Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations and administration of Hopelink�s Redmond Food Bank, including interacting with donors, volunteers, and clients. The successful applicant will be able to supervise and monitor volunteers, maintain confidentiality, exercise positive independent judgment, creatively solve problems and work independently. This position requires exceptional verbal, written and organizational skills and the ability to lift 60 pounds repetitively. Essential Functions: Operations: Responsible for the operation of the food bank (day & evening food banks) � includes set-up, operation and clean up. Maintains inventory � knowledgeable about current food supplies and rotation of stock. Maintains cleanliness and order of the food bank. Responsible for weekly ordering of fresh and non-perishable food from multiple sources. Unloads/loads trucks and stocks food. Supervises and oversees food pick-ups at grocery stores (and acts as backup as needed). Drives a truck with 14-foot box when needed for backup (rotated among other sites on an as needed basis). Interacts with donors and helps organize community food drives. Recruits, trains, organizes, assigns, and supervises volunteers in support of food bank operations. Customer Service: Develops and maintains a working knowledge of all Hopelink services and available community resources; provides program and community resources information to visitors and clients. Works closely with other Hopelink departments to ensure proper delivery of services. Conducts initial intake with potential clients by obtaining all relevant information to determine eligibility for services and needs. As needed, greets visitors and answers phone. Other duties as assigned. Administrative: Maintains financial performance within the food bank budget. Receives, receipts and balances checks and other donations. Maintains statistics, records, and reports related to the food bank. Maintains and updates paper and electronic client files as needed including direct data entry of client information during intake. Qualifications*: Bachelor�s degree in social services, business, public administration, or related field preferred; AA degree required. 2 years experience working with families in crisis; experience with a food distribution program helpful. Skilled in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Responsible for communicating respectfully with people of all cultures, languages, ages, genders, gender preferences, races, physical abilities, ethnic backgrounds, and religions. Strong commitment to customer service and Hopelink�s mission. *An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be acceptable. Licenses, certificates & other requirements: Valid Washington State driver license with clean driving record (may occasionally drive agency truck, CDL not required). Personal automobile liability insurance required. A reliable automobile is required. Must pass criminal history clearance through the Washington State Patrol.
