Medical Billing and Coding Specialist Job Opening in Honolulu, Hawaii - Medical Billing/Coding Honu Women?s Health, LLC. - Honolulu, HI
We seek a highly motivated individual to join an innovative medical practice specializing in women?s health. This individual will be responsible for ensuring correct coding and appropriate billing for all processes and programs related to the medical coding and revenue cycle.
Hours are flexible to accommodate clinic schedules.

Responsibilities:
Leads and provides operational directives for all patient accounting activities related to claims management and collections of accounts receivables.
Ensures timely, efficient cash collections to support the overall financial goals of the facility.
Routinely monitors unbilled reports to determine necessary actions required to minimize days, volumes and dollars held for bill drop.
Reports trends to management.
Routinely monitors aging reports to identify reimbursement patterns and investigate any cash flow issues for needed corrective actions to assure timely collection of accounts and achievement of established performance goals.
Demonstrates knowledge in area of regulatory billing requirements and reimbursement by CMS, Medicaid and other third party payers.
Demonstrates knowledge in managing claims denials and appeals.
Discusses and collects patient balances and outstanding bills.
Routinely develops and discusses patient packages for non-billable items.
Education/Training Minimum:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field (or equivalent in experience)
Preferred:
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or equivalent coding certification from an accredited body.
Experience Minimum:
2-5 years coding, billing, and reimbursement experience in healthcare industry.
Preferred:
Two (2) years of management experience.
Skills/Knowledge Minimum:
Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT-4 including Hospital/Physician billing.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state laws and regulations.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple complex tasks.
Professional attitude and ability to relate to executive management, professionals, business, and community leaders.
Exhibits excellent leadership and self-direction, good judgment in handling difficult situations and good organizational, time management, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Proficient in using MS Word and Excel, with a working knowledge of databases and electronic communications.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
