Description
This position reports to the Business Office Manager, with responsibility of supervising the work activities of the Insurance and Coding staff. Responsible for the productivity of this section resulting in achieving accounts receivable and collections objectives. Ensures positive interaction with third party representatives and promotes good customer relations in the work environment. Develops new procedures and participates in the planning and implementation of system improvements to enhance the operating functions of the department.
The Primary Responsibilities of this position include:
Manages staff members and leads working in Accounts Receivable, Physician Billing
Responsible for the Managed Care (or contracted) section of the Accounts Receivable
Maximize collection dollars from all payors
Ensures team is monitoring accounts receivable daily through worklists; review and follow-up on aged trial balance reports consistent with methodology of the department.
Monitoring production and attendance of all team members
Additional projects and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements The Preferred Candidate will have:
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
3-5 years of billing and accounting experience with third party insurance carriers, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory capacity
Experience with computerized medical billing system required
Ability to motivate and manage a work group
Ability to interpret guidelines established by healthcare industries and government agencies
Appropriate customer service attitudes and services in a variety of work settings
Ability to handle multiple tasks and change work priorities with little notice
