Marketing and Sales Administrator Job Opening in Los Gatos, California - General Description
Responsible for marketing and sales activities. Responsible for the identification of potential clients and business through research. Conducts direct customer marketing/sales of assigned surveys to existing and potential clients. This is a pro-active outbound position which ?hunts? for new business and new clients.
Ensures that clients have necessary survey materials, provides information and answers client questions on survey content, processes, schedules, prices, etc. Contacts and sells to selected customers in a designated market area or accounts via the telephone. Closes sales on assigned products, and generates leads for other sales Management. May have account responsibility with quota and/or goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Researches and identifies potential participants using such sources as: Google, , Hoovers, , Local, regional, and national Compensation and Human Resources Groups, Local, regional, and national Business Directories, Business Associations, current participant referrals, direct outbound contact and sourcing.
Maintains Customer Contact Database, keeping detailed, timely and accurate notes of all customer interactions. Properly codes customer contact information into the database. Verifies that all contact details for eMail, phone, address, billing, company demographics, and survey are up-to-date.
Directly sells and promotes surveys from inside the company. Identifies and proactively sells to new potential customers. Answers general survey questions via telephone, eMail, or other online interactive means (i.e. GoToMeeting, WebEx or SKYPE) as applicable and appropriate. Presents company products to clients including features, details, benefits and advantages via product demonstrations. Stimulates interest in the company and surveys. Gains agreement to accept survey materials; and sends the materials to the client. Gains commitment towards survey participation (closes the sale) and passes-on to the appropriate Survey Manager if escalation is needed. Keeps Survey Management well informed of sales progress, and any potential timing or pricing issues.
Identifies, builds and maintains alternative marketing channels and methodologies, distributing materials and driving survey participation via social media such as , Facebook, and Twitter.
Works with Survey Managers to develop and distribute survey participation information to potential participants via traditional and alternative/new channels.
General market development, helping to identify new opportunities / surveys for the company. Cross-sells customer on other surveys / services / products. Up-sells customers to further services within their survey suite.
Education, Knowledge, Experience and other Job Requirements
Bachelor degree or equivalent desired, with a minimum of two-years college education. Highly developed sales skills gained from three or more years of experience in sales of professional services, consulting or similar activities. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are necessary. Experience, knowledge and understanding of the Compensation function is desirable. Must have a strong understanding and skills in the use of computers, databases and online research tools. Must be proactive, resourceful, self-motivated, with the ability to solve problems and overcome sales obstacles. A positive, friendly, cheerful mode of interaction with clients is essential in this role. Needs the ability to create, develop and maintain strong relationships with a diverse array of clients. Must be well organized and carefully manage details. May be required to work early-morning hours to maximize interaction with East Coast or European clients. Speak, read and write English fluently. Required to have the legal right to work in the US.
