Planner - Material Buyer Job Opening in Gramercy, Louisiana - PURPOSE:
In support of the Auto Shop/MEO Supervisor, provides PM Planning, Scheduling, Execution support & MRO Procurement of mobile equipment parts for plant fleet. Establish and enforce the Preventive Maintenance (PM) Schedule for all mobile equipment, so that breakdowns and downtime are minimized. Manage and maintain third party rental contracts inclusive of price negotiations, scheduling of equipment, and invoice review (following Purchasing Department guidelines). Provide daily support to the Maintenance Auto Shop Supervisor to assist in the effective and efficient repair and preventative maintenance, necessary to ensure the optimal uptime on Company Fleet.
POSITION DEMANDS:
This position requires a high school diploma, two years of college is preferred but not mandatory with experience preferably in an industrial plant setting or mobile equipment repair setting.
Working knowledge of CMMS software
Strong organizational and negotiating skills.
Working knowledge of, purchasing, planning and scheduling, work order systems, and must have mobile equipment repair and parts experience.
Previous experience in automotive equipment shop repair environment is preferred.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Maintenance Auto Shop Supervisor
Works day to day with various departments and personnel (Purchasing, Superintendents, Planners, Warehouse, Engineering, Environmental and Accounting).
Works with external clients (Manufacturers, Suppliers, Contractors and Service Providers).
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Negotiate and implement purchase orders within established guidelines for parts procurement, third party rentals, and third party equipment repairs.
Coordinate the scheduling of equipment delivery and off rent requirements.
Review invoices for accuracy prior to remittance.
Perform purchasing project-related duties as assigned.
Prepare PM Schedule ? to properly maintain mobile equipment in good and safe conditions
Track PM Compliance and operating hours, vehicle conditions, costs and record/updates into work order system. Provide reports to management.
Comply with all company policies, procedures and guidelines.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Responsible for expenditures and has purchasing authority. Accountable to Maintenance Services Superintendent with dotted line to the Purchasing Manager. Responsible for exercising independent judgment and initiative in performing the duties of the position.
