Accountant Job Opening in Shreveport, Louisiana - PURPOSE AND ROLE:
The Accountant will manage financial data in order to facilitate accurate financial reporting. This position requires continuous attention to detail, strong reconciliation skills, and a high level of analytical and interpersonal skills. Must also have strong time management and planning skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet deadlines.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare monthly account reconciliations and general ledger journal entries
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Treasury management and bank reconciliations
Completion of month end financial statements
Create and analyze information by developing spreadsheet reports
Develop and implement accounting practices and procedures
Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
Facilitate effective internal controls
Completion of administrative duties as assigned
Participation in special projects as assigned
Other ad hoc duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
3-5 years of accounting experience preferred
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Understanding of financial processes and standards
Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills required
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly to a wide-range of customers
Ability to define problems, identify solutions and follow through to completion
Ability to work independently (self- motivated) and as part of a team
Has the ability to anticipate what should be done next in a fast paced environment
Attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills
High level of proficiency with MS Office and accounting system experience preferred
