Financial Associate Job Opening in Reno, Nevada - The Great Basin Institute is looking for a highly motivated Financial Associate to join our multi-disciplinary team. The Financial Associate reports to the Financial Manager and is responsible for processing and monitoring payments and expenditures. This position may also be responsible for administrative support when time permits.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:
A Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from a four-year accredited university, or equivalent experience ;
A fundamental understanding of general ledger work, budgeting, AP, AR, and month-end closings;
Demonstrated time management and planning skills;
Ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization, clients and industry contacts, in a professional manner;
Ability to work in a team environment, and work unsupervised;
Demonstrated problem solving skills, including the ability to analyze issues and problems, and provide recommendations;
Proven proficiency using MS Office applications.
Academic transcripts and criminal background check are required*Desirable: *
Prior experience with Sage financial software;
Prior experience with payroll;
Environmental and Nonprofit Industry experience or knowledge.
Compensation:
Rate of Pay: starting at $40,000 DOE
