Farr West Engineering is looking to hire an experienced human resources (HR) and payroll professional to work for both an engineering firm and general company.
A payroll specialist will conduct bi-weekly payroll, including timekeeping and audit processes for all employees. An in-depth understanding of compliance with payroll taxation, garnishments and other pay benefits of part-time and full-time employees is required. An applicant must have experience with prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting for Nevada and California (Oregon and Idaho are preferred as well). Applicant will be required to process payroll taxes and have a working knowledge of Nevada and California labor laws in addition to Federal labor laws.
An HR specialist will assist with the hiring and termination process. New hire orientation, benefit enrollment for new employees and maintaining important data in our ERP system. This position will be responsible for the management of all CONFIDENTIAL employee records, files, projects, and related tasks. The HR specialist maintains and enhances the organization by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and HR policies, benefits, programs, and practices. The HR specialist will work alongside hiring managers to update job requirements and job descriptions for all positions. The HR specialist will ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR Federal and State requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.
HR specialist must maintain confidentiality, display enthusiasm for the company, be team-oriented and possess a ?can-do attitude?. The position requires an extremely detail orientated applicant with superior communication skills.
Applicants shall have experience in the following areas: Human Resources Management, Benefits Administration, Performance Management, Communication Processes, Compensation and Wage Structure, Supports Diversity, Classifying Employees, Employment Law, Laws Against Harassment
All applicants MUST be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, LCP Tracker, DIR website, SharePoint, and possess experience in Project Management and Accounting Software.
A Bachelor?s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related experience is required.
A minimum of 3 years of experience is required.
