Accounting Assistant/Payroll Job Opening in Anchorage, Alaska - Skills required: · Moderate to advanced Excel.· General knowledge of accounting principles.· General knowledge of payroll processing.· Aptitude to learn accounting software. Experience with Spectrum accounting software would be ideal. Duties will vary depending on staff schedules, but will include : · Weekly payroll processing.· Production of customer invoices.· Input of accounts payable invoices.· Follow up of aged receivables.· Bank and general ledger account reconciliation.· Assisting with customer inquiries.· Calculation and submission of Federal and State payroll taxes.· Production of various ad hoc reports.· Work with the sales team to review new contracts. Ensure proper set up in the accounting system and billing compliance.· Process new hires, employee deductions and benefits.· Prepare and input entries to the general ledger as needed.· Assist with the preparation of end of the month financial statements.· Processing end of year W2s.· Processing end of year 1099s.· Assist with end of the year audit.
