Job Description
Summary of Position
The Inside and Field Sales Representative is responsible for providing premier customer service to all current and potential customers from the point of initial contact through delivery of the product. It is also the responsibility of the Inside and Field Sales Representative to achieve sales and profit goals established by the Potomac Steel
Our ideal candidate is a true people-person; someone who loves networking, delivering engaging presentations, building relationships, winning new business and exceeding goals and client expectations. This role combines multiple facets of both inside and outside sales. As a result, an ideal candidate is someone who is equally comfortable meeting with and presenting to clients as they are maintaining and managing accounts. You could be successful in this role if you have excellent territory management, , presentation and active listening skills and is able to display a certain level of creativity and flexibility. This person will manage our Virginia/Washington DC/ Maryland territory for our steel products.
Responsibilities and Duties
As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the Inside and Field Sales Representative. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.
Increase sales and provide support for current customer base which you are assigned.
Prepare proposals, quotes, and sales contracts.
Promptly respond to Request for Quotes for current and potential customers. Overall goal is no later than 24 hours per RFQ.
Coordinate workflow with company staff to achieve closing of sales quotes.
Meet daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals set by Sales Manager, i.e. dollars booked and calls per day.
Proactively review open orders, advising customers of delivery status changes.
Provide technical assistance and solutions for customer returns.
Manage account services through follow-up and quality checks.
Develop and maintain existing product knowledge and sales materials.
Formulate analysis of sales data to assist in establishing specific account pricing.
Contribute to a positive work environment based on teamwork and continuous improvement.
Mastery of negotiation skills; comfortable selling to different personality types
Communicate effectively with other Inside Sales Representatives, Field Sales Representatives, management, and other co-workers.
Prepare and present various sales status reports to Sales Manager weekly that includes activity, follow-up, closing, and adherence to targets.

Required Experience
Two years experience in steel sales
Steel market experience, ensuring ability to recognize opportunities
