Job Title: Web UI Developer
Location: Rochester, NY.
Duration: Long Term Contract.
Experience level required: Mid-level. 5-7 years? experience max.
Key skills: Good communication skills and technical aptitude and UI Skills.
Job Description: The requirements for this Web UI Developer job include: · Share responsibility in the design and architecture of features.· Ensure that the proper infrastructure is in place for feature development and deployment.· Thoroughly and accurately assess complexity and level of effort for feature development.· Demonstrate expertise in multiple technology areas.· Review requirements to ensure completeness and create implementation plans.· Possess expertise in hand-held/mobile device applications design and development.· Possess expertise in user interface design and development.· Code and create applications, services, and enhancements.· Ensure overall quality of implementation and support features during testing/bug fixing phase of the software development life cycle.· Ensure overall quality of code within the overall project.· Support and execute based on the direction set by their manager and within the timelines provided.· Support other team members in the delivery of the overall solution.· Write and execute unit tests for features being implemented.· Conduct/participate in code reviews as required.· Participate and collaborate in project planning & review meetings as required Technical Requirements for this Web UI Developer job include: Proven knowledge and ability in many of the following areas:
Web and mobile web application development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, , Express, AngularJS, PhoneGap, SVG, WebGL)
Native platform development (Java, Objective-C, C# & , C++)
REST (and some SOAP)
Ability to learn new technologies quickly
Ability to develop effective, compelling, and intuitive user interfaces
Ability to comprehend relational database concepts, program against and build tables in relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server®, Oracle®, MySQL®, etc.)
Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, SOLR, etc.)
Understanding of rapid application development, object oriented concepts, design and development
expertise in application design and development
Localization to develop global applications
Application/service scaling and optimization
Data security
Imaging expertise a plus (raster and vector file formats, effects, edits, handling large quantities of data efficiently)
Ability to develop and document APIs and support third parties in the adoption and use of the APIs
Knowledge of commonly used architectural patterns
Agile / scrum methodologies
Education:
Preferred: BS in Computer Science or Software Engineering Discipline
Preferred: >1 year of experience in team environment using source control.
