Job Summary
The Safekeeping Representative is responsible for clearing DTC Eligible trades, processing principal and interest payments on securities held in custody, reconciling differences in payments, and executing pledge requests for safekeeping customers.
Job Duties & Responsibilities

Balance daily principal and interest payments
Ensure proper movement of securities through DTC connections
Maintain over 10 billion par value of over 25,000 safekept security holdings including factors, variable rates, and history records in InTrader database
Create accurate general ledger and DDA entries to reflect security payments and settlements
Enter Fed eligible outside trades into InTrader
Use decision making to independently research any missing or differing projected income
Inquire with DTC on any missing or differing income payments
Track any income exceptions until resolution
File settled trades
Communicate investment department DTCC activity to operations department staff
Communicate with appropriate investment department staff about DTC balancing discrepancies
Verify trade confirmations
Research and answer customer questions
Assist with any other general office duties
Update corporate remic factors and appropriately communicate delays
Scan DTC and other requested department activity into identifi
Cross train fellow employees as requested

Required Training & Education
Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or progress toward the latter
Banking or investment experience
Previous banking experience or completion of AIB Principles of Banking course required within one year of hire
Preferred Training & Education
Familiarity with various types of securities including agency, mortgage backed, and municipal bonds
Working knowledge of Bloomberg and/or FIS InTrader software
Working knowledge of investment operations processes
Degree major in business, preferably finance or accounting
Physical Demands
Ability to perform typical functions related to a desk job including using a keyboard and answering a phone.
Ability to speak clearly and concisely with customers and employees
