Position Overview:
The Innovation Intern will have the opportunity to learn more about health information exchange in Colorado while completing a major solo project for the HIE Innovation group, and helping as needed on other projects. The project is an enhancement to the currently used internal tool built on the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF, C#) and will involve a Graphical User Interface (GUI), SQL Database usage, Email alerts, Screen Scraping of HIE Messaging System, and using multithreaded processes to achieve the goal of the project. Additional projects will include building web-based tools for use in displaying and reporting on health information and processing to CORHIO?s Operations Team.
As part of the Innovation Team at CORHIO, this position will contribute input on new technology opportunities. The Innovation Intern will work with the Senior Innovation Developer and report to Innovations Architect and interact closely with other CORHIO teams and clients, such as QA, Implementations, and the Service Desk.
Responsibilities:
Complete the enhancement project for the internal tool
Assist in documentation efforts for CORHIO?s custom solutions
Work closely with the Innovation Development team to ensure best practices and learning opportunities

Candidates should be interested in pursuing a career in healthcare IT and comfortable being exposed to a myriad of disparate technologies and healthcare standards.
Exposure to interface configuration desired
Support and troubleshooting research experience a plus
Desired skills:
HTML
Development (C#, C++)
Javascript or similar scripting language
SQL experience
Excellent documentation skills
Systems Integration

Typical office setting; the CORHIO office is in the Cherry Creek area of Denver, near the intersection of Colorado Blvd. and Cherry Creek Drive South

Compensation:
This is a full-time three-month internship. Hourly compensation will be provided.
